Allen West Joins the Committee to Defend the President
Former Florida congressman supporting pro-Trump PAC in advisory role
Washington, D.C. — Today, the Committee to Defend the President—one of America’s leading pro-Trump super PACs—announced the hiring of former Florida Congressman Allen West as a senior advisor. West, a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel, will assist the Committee in a wide range of activities, such as fundraising, grassroots outreach, and media relations. West’s primary goal is to support President Trump’s “America First” agenda and the constitutional conservatism that are making America great again.
Since its inception in 2013, the Committee has made roughly $11 million in independent expenditures to support Republican causes, in addition to over $365,000 in direct contributions to Republican candidates. In 2018, the Committee’s Tennessee program propelled Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) to victory, as the pro-Trump PAC spent more than $1 million in support of Blackburn’s candidacy.
With West’s help, the Committee is expanding its political activities in 2020, planning $1 million spends in key battleground states such as Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. In partnership with Great America PAC, the Committee has already launched the “Great America Voter Drive,” a $1 million campaign to register new Trump voters this election cycle.
Due to its political influence, Committee’s media presence is felt across the country. In recent years, the pro-Trump PAC has secured over 170 cable news bookings, as well as roughly 300 radio appearances nationwide. The Committee’s representatives have also penned dozens of op-ed columns in support of President Trump and his “America First” agenda.
